Welcome

I’m a Creative who enjoys working at the intersection of people, content, and technology.

In my most recent role I created and managed social media content, designed web pages, managed website user permissions, and trained website content contributors.

Recent projects include creating hundreds of social media posts, for which my work included photography and videography, graphic design, motion graphics, video editing, and caption writing. I designed, coded, and wrote or edited college web pages for the New York State Opportunity Promise, CUNY Brightspace faculty resources, and the BCC Entrepreneurship & Hatchery page. I created a “digital garden” cantorial site (a variation on a blog), and a short film series website. For these projects, I led the content strategy, information architecture, design, and UX.

When I first started programming the Web, it was to make better use of it as a publishing platform. I’ve worked with .NET, C#, VB, PHP, and SQL. I’ve dabbled with Ruby. Along the way, I’ve managed servers and databases; configured domains and SSL certificates; and installed, customized, and maintained content management systems and ecommerce platforms.

CMS experience includes WordPress, Ektron CMS (since acquired), Expression Engine, TextPattern, the Bludit flat-file CMS, and more.

But it began with a passion for writing and communication. While earning my undergraduate degree in English, I led writing workshops. During my MFA program I tutored journalism students. Over time, my work expanded into graphic design: logos, business cards, flyers, and websites.

There’s more info in my resume. But since you made it this far, let’s talk.
